Aside from my kids, there have been hundreds of other kids who have been my children at some points in their lives because I am a teacher. Most of these kids, who are in their teens, are rich and financially capable of paying for anything, from the latest mobile phones, notebooks and branded clothes. But what hurts is when they have to pay for a rehab.

Teenagers are at loss, most of the time confused because of the physical, emotional and social changes happening at their stage. As such, when not properly guided, they resort to rebellion in different forms like taking illegal drugs, alcohol, cigarettes; bullying others or being bullied; or living a boxed life.

I tried my best to keep my students out of these when I was still teaching. Now that I’m a parent, I’d do my best to guide my sons properly so they won’t have to go through such things.

Meanwhile, my brother and his wife need praises for encouraging my nieces and nephews to find themselves by exposing them to productive activities that would make them better and happier little persons.
